I have.

Mine are ABW and Beech, with a ABW dowel as a centre marker in the beech one and
a beech dowel in the ABW one.
They work well for me nice and visible results.

Subject: [OldTools] Winding sticks

Since we are in the throes of Winding Stick building......

I thought I might ask....
I have always seen these as 2 pieces of identical species wood, with sometimes
and inlay of lighter wood ( or ivory) on one of them.....

Has anyone tried to make a set from 2 species of wood with different colors? As
in Maple and walnut ..... one light , the other dark?.. rather than the inlay
...?
Was it a successful set?
