Well the rain keeps raining but the tools keep a coming. Got some good
fresh items on the list for all tastes.

I'd really prefer a check for payment for all items. On items less than
$25 (not including shipping) no PayPal. On combined purchases totaling
over $25 then PayPal is okay. This is for the USA buyers only. The out
of country folks, PayPal will be accepted for all purchase, unless you
want to send me a US denominated money order, then that is fine. Sorry
for the inconvenience but I'm just trying to cut the costs down a bit here.

And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!

First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Oldtools terms, except on items and orders over $100, if I don't know ya
or haven't done business in the past (and my records good way back..)
then it's pre-pay. I do take PayPal (except as noted). Prices do not
include shipping. All items are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.
Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item is optional.
Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via First Class
mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping cover the cost
of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.

Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

Japanese Mentori Kanna Adjustable Chamfer Plane. Measuring 7 7/8" long
(sorry, my metric rule has a leaky transmission and I don't drive it any
more), the iron is 1 1/8" wide at the edge (the corners are chamfered a
little), the maximum cut is about 13/16", and this weighs 14 oz unboxed.
Somebody made it but I can't tell you who. This is in used but good
condition. The only cleaning I did was to take some sawdust reside off
of the blade and wedge. The body is red oak. That is good other than a
few stains. The adjuster screws work and I did have the body apart.
The previous owner added those square nuts, for what I have not a clue.
There is a brass sole plate. The iron is good and sharp (or pretty darn
close to it). This ain't 100% minty but it's pretty close and and it
sure ain't got the price tag of a new one, not by a long shot. $75.00

Stanley No 45 Type 2 Combination Plane. This weighs 4 lbs 1/4 oz
unboxed. Justus A. Traut of New Britain, CT was granted Pat. No.
294,825 on Mar. 11, 1884 for the design of this tool. This is a Type 2
and was made by Stanley between 1886 and 1887 which makes this guy 130
years old or so. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. Note
this is straight, any bending you see is because of camera lens
distortion, although why folks would think that I would sell a bent
plane is beyond me. The blades of skates and the working face of the
fence have some frosting, a couple of lightly pitted spots, and some
dings and scuffs. The japanning is original and about 60%. There is
some dirt and stains that didn't want to come off without a fight. I
thought about refinishing this guy and if it sets around here too long,
I might revisit that idea. The rods have some frosting and a few dings.
The knob has some dings but nothing too bad. (Note: That is the same
knob as used on the No. 1 planes of this era and is worth what I'm
asking for the whole plane!) The rosewood handle has some chipping on
the lower end on the front (left side looking from the rear) but the
horn is good. That also has some dings but nothing too bad there. All
the screws work and were oiled, except that the nut for the knob didn't
want to come off of the fully threaded rod and I wasn't going to risk
busting it to try and get it off. I didn't get any blades with this guy
but those can be had. This model doesn't have the depth adjuster for
the blades, hard to imagine how folks used plow planes for hundreds of
years without one but they did. This ain't pristine and it sure ain't
got that kind of price tag either. This will be shipped in "kit" form.
$80.00

Early Taylor Patent 10 Inch Sweep Iron Bitstock. Measuring 12 3/8"
long, the sweep is 10", and this weighs 2 lbs 1 1/2 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker. Jeremy Taylor of Hebron, CT was granted Pat.
No. 9,814 on June 30, 1836 for the design of this tool. These were made
in several different styles by a number of manufacturers over the years.
This is in reasonably good condition for the age and was cleaned.
There is some light patina but nothing too bad. The chuck has a little
crusty inside but there are no cracks and the lever and tab are good.
The sheet iron pad was originally black japanned. Some of that remains
on the inside. There are a few spots of pitting on the outside. The
pad has a little play on the shaft but it spins freely. I did put a
drop of oil in the appropriate hole. I have have a few of these over
the years and they sure ain't getting any easier to find, especially in
this kind of shape. $30.00

Stanley SW Everylasting 3/4 Inch Paring Or Bench Chisel. Measuring 5
1/2" from the edge to the end of the ferrule, the blade is 2 7/8" long,
this is 7 3/4" overall, and this weighs 6 oz unboxed. The mark is faint
but can be partially read. This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned. The back has some frosting and some scuffs but nothing that
can't be worked out as this is sharpened which it will need. The front
has more of the same. The ferrule also has some frosting but no cracks.
The handle has some staining and dings but also no cracks. The striking
button has some dings but that ain't all bashed up like most of these
that you see (remember, Stanley did advertise these guys to be used with
a claw hammer!) This ain't minty but it sure ain't bad either. $34.00

L S Starrett No 85 B 9 Inch Extension Divider. The body is 8 7/16" long
(which is Starrett's idea of 9") and this weighs 1 lb 1/4 oz unboxed.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is a little
frosting on the body but nothing too bad. There are user initials
lightly scratched by the joint. The locking screw and fine adjustment
nuts are all good and were oiled. The point clamps are good as well
with no cracks. The points were ground down at some point but there is
plenty there to work with. The points also have some frosting and a few
dings. This ain't pristine but these bigger ones sure ain't getting any
easier to find and it's a whole lot cheaper than buying a new one. $70.00

18th Century Brass & Steel Wood Handle Pie Crimper. Measuring 8" long,
the wheel is 1 5/16" in diameter, and this weighs 2 1/2 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker. This is in good condition and was lightly
cleaned. There isn't much patina at all. The wheel is good and spins
freely. Note the decorative file work on the steel shaft. That kind of
craftsmanship is found on 18th Century items. The handle is tiger maple
and has some great figure showing. That is good with not much wear.
The ring on the brass end nut is bent a little. Stuff happens when you
are 200 plus years old. All in all this is a nice looking example of
this type of item. $75.00

The Rest Of The Stuff

Two Stanley 8 Inch Squares. There is a No. 20 try square, a No. 25
sliding adjustable bevel square and they weigh 10 1/2 oz unboxed. These
are in decent condition, the only cleaning was to take some rust off of
the bevel square blade. Both blades have some spots but have almost all
of the original bluing. The edges and corners are good. The handle on
the try square has some dings on the back and both have some wear to the
finish. The try square is true, according to the flip test but it ain't
no Starrett. The locking screw on the bevel square works. These ain't
minty but they will get the job done and it's a good working set for a
beginner or carpenter that is looking for something to toss in a
traveling tool box. $25.00

Old Worth 8 Inch Draw Knife Or Drawknife. Measuring 14 3/16" overall,
the blade is 7 13/16" long, 1 7/16" wide at the center, 1 3/8" at the
ends, and this weighs 15 3/4 oz unboxed. Worth tools were made by P. S.
& W. for Bigelow & Dawes Co of Boston, Mass prior to WWII. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned. The back has some frosting on the
cutting area but nothing too bad. The edge is little uneven but it's
reasonably sharp. There are some dings on the top and I did clean some
bits of mushrooming off both the back and the front. The frame and
front have some light pitting. The handles have most of the original
finish plus a coat of wax. There are some dings and what have you, but
they are solid and on tight. The ferrules and end caps have some light
patina as well. This ain't perfect but it sure ain't bad either. $32.00
http://oldetoolshop.com/forsale/july/drawknife0702.jpg

Brown & Sharpe No 749 Machinist V-Block With Clamp. This weighs 1 lb 2
oz unboxed. This is in used but reasonably good condition and was
cleaned. There wasn't much patina other than the usual shop grunge.
The block is good other than a few drill marks inside of the deeper V.
The other one is clean. The clamp is good with no issues. This ain't
pristine but it sure ain't bad either. $20.00
http://oldetoolshop.com/forsale/july/machinisttool0712.jpg

Vintage Goodell-Pratt Meat Or Bone Saw Blade Punch. This weighs 7 3/4
oz unboxed. This is in used but reasonably good condition and was
cleaned. There is a little funky deep inside the head and on the inside
of the handle. The punch tip is good and the screw threads were oiled.
These guys sure ain't been showing up much at all and it is must have
tool if you are into making bow saws. $18.00

Push Drill Bit Chuck For A Yankee 30 - 130 Screwdriver. This weighs 1
1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This fits the Yankee No.
30 and 130 automatic push screwdrivers along with the A models. This is
in used but good shape and was cleaned. There really ain't any patina
at all. You unscrew the chuck to insert the bit and screw it tight to
lock the bit. There ain't much more to go wrong with this guy. The bit
came with it and it's leaving with it. This is a handy tool to have
around. $16.00

C Hammond Phila No 4 Hand Forged Cobblers Hammer Head. Measuring 3
15/16" long (straight across), the face is 1 11/16" in diameter, the
peen is 1 13/16" wide, and this weighs 1 lb 2 1/2 oz unboxed. This is
in decent condition and was cleaned. Old Charlie Hammond made hammers
and axes in and around the Philadelphia PA area from the late 1860's
until the start of the 20th Century. This is in decent condition and
was cleaned. There is some overall light patina. The face has some
dings but no cracks that I can see. The peen has some light dings and a
whisker of mushrooming on the underside at the edge. The square punched
eye has a little crusty inside but it's good to go. This ain't minty
but for a tool of this age, well it sure ain't bad. $18.00
http://oldetoolshop.com/forsale/july/hammer0703.jpg

Vintage Cast Iron Gun Makers Handvise Or Hand Vise. Measuring 4 9/16"
long, the jaws are 1 1/4" wide, and this weighs 8 1/4 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker, there are user initials stamped on both sides of
the joint. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There
ain't much in the way of patina to fuss about. The jaws have some
scuffing on the top but they line up tight and flush. The cross
hatching on the jaw faces is worn but it still can be seen. The screw
and nut are good. The joint is also good and was oiled. This ain't
pristine but it will get the job done. $24.00
http://oldetoolshop.com/forsale/july/handvise0701.jpg

Keen Kutter K5 Stanley Bedrock Plane Body For Restoration. This weighs
2 lbs 7 1/2 oz unboxed. This is the same body that was used on the
early round side Stanley Bedrock planes, look it up. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. Note this is straight, any bending you see
is because of camera lens distortion. The sides have some frosting,
dings, and a few lightly pitted spots. The sole has some scratches and
more of the frosting and light patches. The japanning is original and
about 90% present but there are some paint spats and other funky that
didn't want to come off. Other than a quick soap and water bath, I did
not coat the japanning with anything else. The only screw that this
came with was the frog adjuster screw which works. I did try the rest
of the screw holes and they are all good and were oiled. I did not get
any other parts with this guy. This needs some work but if you have one
with a busted body, well they sure ain't that easy to find. $22.00

Old Atkins 2 Man Cross Cut Saw Raker Gage or Gauge. Measuring 5 3/4"
long, 2 1/4" high, and this weighs 7 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in decent
condition and was not cleaned, at least by me. The front is fairly
clean. The back has some crusty on the inside. Both screws work,
although I didn't have them all the way out. This ain't pretty or
perfect but it will get the job done. $18.00
http://oldetoolshop.com/forsale/july/sawtool0701.jpg

Vintage 1/8 Inch Paring Carving Tool Chisel. Measuring 4 7/16" from the
edge to the start of the handle, the blade is 3 11/16" long, this is 8
1/4" overall, and this weighs 1 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the
maker. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The back of the
blade has some pitting up at the edge and a few spots along the side but
that is easy enough to deal with on a tool of this width. The top and
sides have some pitting down by the edge as well but after that it's
fairly clean. The handle has some dings to the finish but it's solid.
This ain't pretty or perfect but this size of paring chisel does not
show up very often. $14.00

Not signed as to the maker. The blades look to be hand forged. These
are in reasonably good condition and were lightly cleaned. All of the
blades have some scuffs and light patina left over from when they were
made. The tip on the middle one was thinned a little. The handles are
all good and those are heavy brass ferrules. These ain't the fanciest
but they are well made tools. $15.00

cleaned and repainted. The original finish was pretty much a memory
when this got here. The sole has some frosting and a few spots that
look like casting flaws. The blade is clean on the cutting face other
than some light frosting and there is lots there to work with. The cap
and screw are good. This ain't the fanciest but it will get the job
done. $18.00

and was cleaned. The head has a little wear to the finish and a few
dings on the sides of the eye. The peen has some very light dings and
the face is good. The handle is the original one. That has some stains
and dings but it's solid. The head is on tight setting here but things
do loosen up in shipping. This ain't minty but it sure ain't bad
either. $18.00

Uncommon E Wright Patent 1867 Machinist 7 Inch Outside Caliper.

guy between 130 and 150 years old. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. There is some overall light patina, frosting and some pitting
on the legs. There is a user name stamped on both sides. The joint is
good and the spring is stout. There is some crusty inside the spring
area. The screw works, slowly because of the spring strength, but the
tips close tight and this opens to well over 3". This ain't minty but
these guys do not show up very often. $25.00

one deeper spot in the middle. The top has some frosting and staining.

Unusual Early Hand Forged Key Shaped Cutting Tool. Measuring 9 3/4"
long, the blade is 2 1/8" high (from the edge to the top of the shaft),
about 1 3/8" wide across the edge, and this weighs 1 lb 1 oz unboxed.
Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. There is the usual patina found on these kinds of items. The
blade has some dings on the edge and I did run a file over a few sharp
spots on the side of the edge. The top has a little dinging but nothing
too bad there. The handle is good other than a little crusty inside. I
ain't sure what this was made to be used for, but I can say, that I
ain't never seen another one like it, in over 20 years of selling tools
and early goods. $25.00

Early L S Starrett Machinist Speed Indicator. This weighs 6 1/2 oz
unboxed. The one and only Laroy S. Starrett of Athol, MA was granted
Pat. No 580,432 on Apr. 13, 1897 and Stafford P. Walsh of San Francisco,
CA was granted Pat. No. 786,073 on Mar. 28, 1905 for improvements to the
tool. This is marked with both patent dates. This is in used but good
condition and was not cleaned. The tool itself is clean other than some
light scuffs, a couple of tiny spots where the plating is dinged, and
user initials scratch marked on the body. The shaft turns, but it could
stand a drop of oil. The one it is missing it's rubber (no wise
cracks!) but the other one is good. The handle on this guy is rosewood,
not hard rubber like on the later ones. The case has some wear but it's
good for the most part. The lock works. This ain't 100% minty but it's
better than 99% of these guys that I see of this vintage. $25.00

P S & W 7/8 Inch Wheelwrights Corner Chisel. Measuring 11 5/8" from the
edge to the end of the socket, the blade is 7 3/8" long, this is 16 1/4"
overall, and this weighs 1 lb 5 oz unboxed. This is in decent condition
overall and was cleaned. There is a spot of pitting on the one side by
the edge and a few smaller spots there and here but the backs are clean
for the most part. The edge is a bit dinged up and will need some work.
The inside has some light crusty but that was never finished off real
pretty like to start with. The socket does have a user name stamped on
it and some dings and frosting but i was never hit. The handle looks to
be the original one. I did run a saw over some cracked spots were it
hit the socket end and there are some chips there. The rest has some
stains and dings but nothing too bad. The bang ring is good. This
ain't pristine but as these guys go, well it sure ain't bad and least it
has a usable handle. $55.00

Early Hand Forged No 2 European French Style Cobblers Hammer Head.
Measuring 6 5/16" long (straight across), the face is 1 5/8" in
diameter, the peen is 1 3/8" wide, and this weighs 1 lb 3 1/4 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, this is just stamped 2 between the
face and the eye on the top. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. There is some overall light patina and spots of noticeable
pitting, mainly on the one side of the eye. The face also has some
spots of pitting and wear but there are no cracks that I can see. I did
run a file over some sharp bits of mushrooming on the peen. That has
some dings but it's not too bad. The eye has some crusty inside but
it's solid. This ain't pretty or perfect but these guys ain't all that
common, at least around here. $25.00

Small Early Cast Iron Frame Hacksaw To Restore Or Collect. Measuring 12
5/8" overall, this would take a blade about 6" from hole to hole, the
throat is about 1 1/8" deep, and this weighs 9 1/2 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
The frame was japanned originally and some of that remains. The end nut
and blade holder are good. The handle has some wear (it ain't like
these guys were bought originally just to be looked at). Both the
handle and the end blade holder rotate. This will need a blade and the
blade pins but that can be done. This isn't minty but it is a neat
older saw that rarely shows up. $25.00

Three Machinist 5 Inch Divider Caliper Tools. Left to right, there is
an Athol Machine Co divider measuring 4 5/8" from the top of the spring
to the tips, a Union Tool Co outside caliper measuring 5 5/16" long, a
Union Tool Co inside caliper measuring 4 15/16" long, and they weigh 4
1/2 oz unboxed. These are all in used but good working condition and
were cleaned. There wasn't much patina, just the usual shop wear and a
few dots and spots. All of them have a little funky up in the springs.
The joints and screws are all good as are the tips. They even have
their balls (no comment!) These ain't as sexy as their Starrett cousins
but they will get the job done. $24.00

L S Starrett Machinist No 41 6 Inch Hermaphrodite Firm Joint Caliper.
Measuring 6 1/4" long and this weighs 2 1/4 oz unboxed. This is is used

Hand Forged 1/2 Inch Cabinet Makers Gimlet. Measuring 8 3/4" long, the
cut is 7/16" in diameter, the handle is 5 1/8" wide, and this weighs 3
1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, just marked Germany and 12.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The back of the
blade and shaft are good. There is a little patina on the inside. I
did run some sand paper over the edge and it's not too bad but it could
stand some fine tuning. The eye is good. The handle is hand carved
oak. That has some stains but it's solid and does remove from the tool.
These bigger sizes sure ain't getting any easier to find. $17.00

Small 5 Inch Perfect Handle Style Screwdriver. Measuring 4 7/8" long,
the tip is a little under 1/4" wide, and this weighs 1 1/2 oz unboxed.
Not signed as to the maker, just marked Made In Germany which is where
most of these small guys were made. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. There is some pitting and dings on the blade. I cleaned up
the edge a touch. The shaft has some frosting but nothing too bad. The
handle scales are 2 different types of wood but that's how these guys
were made. The scales have some stains and dings but are solid and on
tight. There is a whisker of mushrooming on the end. These hex shaft
ones aren't nearly as common as the ones with the round shafts. $17.00

peen is 9/16" wide, and this weighs 6 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the
maker. This is in reasonable condition for the age and use and was
cleaned. There are some spots of patina on the head. The face and peen
are good. The handle is the original one. That has some stains and
dings but it's solid. The head wiggles a touch but it ain't going no
where. This ain't perfect but for the age, well it sure ain't bad
either. $19.00

Sawyer Tool Ashburnham MA 6 Inch No 4 Machinist Rule. This weighs 1 oz
unboxed. The Sawyer Tool Co was founded in Athol MA in 1894, they moved
first to Fitchburg MA in 1898, then to Ashburnham, MA, in 1912, before
becoming Almond Mfg. Co. in 1915. That puts this tool between 102 and
105 years old. This is in reasonably good condition for the age and was
cleaned. There are some spots of light frosting and pitting but it's
clean for the most part. All the rulings are readable. The edges and
corners are good (the one in the picture has couple of tiny dings but
they don't go all the way across). This ain't minty but these guys sure
don't show up very often any more. $17,00

Two L S Starrett Machinist No 579 Telescoping Gages. There is the B
size which goes from 1/2" to 3/4", the C size which goes from 3/4" to 1
1/4", and they weigh 3/4 oz unboxed. The C one is a newer model. These
are in used but good shape, the only cleaning was to take a little shop
grunge off of the knurling. The heads are good and the locks work just
dandy. These are handy tools to have. $25.00

Early Small Hand Forged Blacksmith Stock Twister Bar. Measuring 5 1/2"

is 5/8" wide, 1/4" high, and this weighs 3 1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed
as to the maker. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There is
the usual patina found on tools of this age and use. The slot has some
mushrooming on the one side, the other is good. This is solid with no
cracks that I can see. This is a neat little item and it does have some
age to it. $17.00

L S Starrett No 166 A Machinist Pin Vise. This weighs 1/2 oz unboxed.
This is in used but good condition and was not cleaned. There isn't
much in the way of patina on the head and chuck. The jaws are good. The
hard rubber handle has some light dings and stains but nothing too bad
there. The tube is clear all the way through. This ain't NOS but it
sure ain't bad. $14.00

Early Hand Forged 2 oz Jeweler Watchmaker Hammer. Measuring 9 11/16"
overall, the head is 3" long, the face is 5/16" in diameter, the peen is
3/8" wide, and this weighs 2 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the
maker. This is in good condition and was cleaned. There are a few
spots of light pitting on the head but nothing too bad there. The face
has some light frosting. The peen is good. The handle looks to be the
original one and is in good shape as well other than a few stains. The
head is on tight. This is a neat little hammer and one that does not
show up very often. $23.00

Old Fray Spofford 8 Inch Sweep Iron Brace. This weighs 1 lb 8 oz
unboxed. The patina has eaten up the mark pretty much but from what
little I can see, this is either a Fray or a Fray & Pigg. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned. There is some overall light pitting.
The chuck has some crusty inside but it's good otherwise with no cracks.
The screw works and was oiled. I tried this with bit and it runs
straight. The pad also has some light patina but there is almost no
play on the shaft. I did work some oil down in there as well. This
ain't no picture of perfection, but 120 + year old tools rarely are. $34.00

Big Early Hand Forged 1 1/2 Inch Framing Chisel. Measuring 8 3/4" from
the edge to the top of the handle, the blade is 5 5/8" long, this is 16
1/4" overall, and this weighs 1 lb 9 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the
maker. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The back has some
spots of light pitting, some light scuffs, and a few flaws left over
from when this was made. Overall it ain't bad and well this ain't
exactly a straight razor type tool either. This will need a sharpening.
The front has some spots of pitting as well. There are some light
dings on the sides. The handle is hand carved oak. That has a thin
check under the ferrule and a few dings but it's solid overall. I did
take some sharp mushrooming off the bang ring and there is either a deep
scratch or a partial crack about 1/2 down around the bend. Just stay
away from the 6 lb sledge hammer and it should be fine. This ain't
minty but considering the age and use, well it sure ain't bad either.
$30.00

Early Clam Or Oyster Shucking Knife. Measuring 6 15/16" long (straight
across) the handle area is a little over 7/8" wide, a little over 1/4"
thick, and this weighs 6 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This
was hand forged from an old file. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. There is the usual patina found on these tools. The blade has
some light pitting. The bend is intentional. The handle shows the
teeth from the file but is solid. These guys sure ain't been showing up
much around these here parts and especially one made from a file. $27.00

Neat Little 1 oz Solid Brass Plumb Bob. Measuring 2 3/16" long, 7/16"
wide across the flats, and this weighs 1 1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as

The tip is a little dull and the string end has a few dings but the hole
is clear. First one of these guys that I've seen in a long time. $17.00

the head is 5 1/16" long, the face is 5/8" square with a 3x3 tooth
pattern, and this weighs 7 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker,
just stamped Italy on the top of the head. This is in decent condition
and was cleaned. There is a little patina on the head but nothing too
bad. The teeth are all good. The spike is a little dulled and could
stand a dressing. The handle looks to be a replacement. That has some
dings and a few slivers off on the back side but it's solid and the head
is on tight, at least setting here. This ain't minty but it sure ain't
bad either. $19.00
