If you google "ledeburitic", google defaults to "ledeburite", which is
a high-carbon iron alloy mixture, not a steel; if you click below to
confirm you want to search on "ledeburitic", you get search results
relating to how these ledeburite mixtures are made into D2 tool steel
as well as being used in powder metallurgy to make tool steels.  The
paper at http://mit.imt.si/Revija/izvodi/mit115/jurci.pdf summarizes
the technology involved and the results--a very tough, hard tool
steel.
