262067 Tom Dugan <tom_dugan@h...> 2017‑03‑26 Re: Bud Brown's 50th
Tom Dugan was down with a cold, and not willing to spread it around. I figure I
did pretty good selling in the PATINA parking lot a couple of weeks ago, so I
wasn't jonesing. Plus, I've had less satisfaction at the Brown affairs as the
years go by and my "needs" get tempered.

Subject: [OldTools] Bud Brown's 50th

I went to Bud Brown's 50th show and auction.I was a little distracted by
other events this year and was thinking of canceling, but I'm a
collector, that's what I do, so off we went.I think attendance each year
is a little less, and fewer dealer tables, fewer galoots. I don't know
too many of the galoots that usually attend, but Tony Seo and Tom Dugan
are pretty regular attendees, but not this year. The Leachmonster didn't
make it.54 tables, down from 80 years ago.

I didn't find anything at the show.I've been doing this perhaps too long
and I didn't find anything of interest.I spent most of Friday going over
a lengthy list I'd made up for the auction.I was disappointed with most
of the items I'd marked.I know I would never submit an absentee bid for
any of the items described as Fine or Mint.Absentee bidders likely do
better on the older, unique, and patented items where condition is not
so important.
