I have a 1935 Atkins catalog, and it has a page (118) of saws bearing the
Sheffield brand,
Numbers 55 - Straight Back
56 - Skew Back
57 - Straight Back
58 - Reliable Straight Back
59 - Skew Back
9 - Home Builder Skew Back

Typical Prose for #55: Sheffield brand is a moderately priced hand saw.
Excellent high temper. Carefully taper ground, nicely polished and ribbon
edge. Beech handle, full carved. Coffee stained, laquered and polished 3
brass screws, 1 medallion. Filed and set.

Available in 18, 20, 22, 24 & 26 in, from 5-11 points crosscut, 4-1/2 -7
rip, and ship point. $29 - $34.35 / doz

#57 not listed as taper ground, and 1/2 price of #55-56

#58 - ...........popular priced saw...... 80% of #55-56 price

#9 ...special steel........72% of #55-56 price, only 24", only crosscut,
only 8ppi
