260058 William Ghio <bghio@m...> 2016‑09‑24 The College of Lost Arts
Was recently on vacation and stayed in a cool B&B. the house was originally
built in 1882, burned about 2005. Owner scraped it off the lot, went to an
architect w/ pictures of the old house and said he wanted a new one just like
the old one. Didn’t quite come out that way as, among other things, the
architect claimed his software would not reproduce the curves in the Mansard
roof. In this case it was an ogee curve. His contractor could not find anybody
who had ever built a Mansard but was game to try. Did a beautiful job. The
exterior looks just like the rest of the neighborhood, but the interior is all
modern. A great B&B.

So today, my daughter sends me this:

Apparently there are others who appreciate the accomplishments of our
forefathers.

The link is nice, and I am glad to learn of the school. May even see what they
have when (if) I get the chance to retire.

But you left me with a feeling of loss when you taunted us all with the
description of the B&B. Pictures? Where is it?
