260056 Darrell & Kathy <larchmont@s...> 2016‑09‑24 yard sale finds
Galoots,

I was recently lamenting the lack of yard sales I had been able to get
to this year. This weekend was the second weekend I've got out to
yard sales this year. Unlike many of these forays into the wilds of
suburban Oakville, this time I FOUND TOOLS! Not many, but not crap.

I picked up a pair of like-new (meaning the owner thought they were
wickedly sharp, but upon close inspection they are just sharp, and will
certainly need some attention to the edges before use) Henry Talyor
back-bent skewed carving gouges. Very specialized stuff, and very
(for a yard sale) expensive. $20 CAD each, which is prolly $15 USD
these days. But I know that if I tried to find these in a catalogue they
would likely go for $50+, if you could find them.

Then there was the wee square I found for $2. I saw it and grabbed
it fast. I've heard about these things for years on the Porch, but
never saw one before, not even in captivity. One of those cute
little framing squares, this one is 8x10 inches.

Oh, and when I got home and looked closer at the square I found
that there was a faint Pexto logo impressed upon it:

As a wise old galoot once said: "neener neener"
