210398 Bill Ghio <bghio@m...> 2010‑12‑04 Bio update 2010
My last bio update was 2003 I guess it's time for another. I joined the list in
the first few days following its announcement on RecWW and despite the number o
f tools I have added to the shelf since then, I am still (mostly) a user, notwit
hstanding having all the K-series stealth Bedrocks in the #3 to #8 range. I stil
l hope someday to have Ed Minch draw my name in the Galootaclaus gift exchange a
nd send me that little K2 he has. Other than that, I have a thing for user made
tools and have a number of hand forged calipers and dividers, and marking and pa
nel gauges.

I've built some case goods and tables, even built the balustrade in my last hous
e, but my favorite projects are Windsor chairs and among those, my favorites are
the four Windsor rocking chairs that I delivered to my grandchildren on their r
espective first birthdays. They are a challenge; I find these chairs more diffic
ult than full size chairs.

I retired in 2003 and moved across the country to a new house in a small town. W
ith this house came a large walkout basement with six big windows for light. In
this space I have slowly constructed a shop that fits my style of working and am
finally beginning to produce some decent furniture for the house.

Bill, at home on the Eastern Shore.
