14965 Scott Laflair <laflair@n...> 1997‑03‑12 Bio: Scott LaFlair
My name is Scott LaFlair. I'm a software developer for Nortel.
I'm 32 and live in Brampton (Toronto).
There is no SWMBO. (I don't have to sneak any of my new tools in).

I have been lurking here for about four months now. I think it's time to
join in the fun here.
I became interested in woodworking watching Norm on Saturday mornings.
He makes it look so easy. All you need is a shop full of electric tools.
After a while I began to wonder if there was an other way of doing this.
The craftsmen of yesteryear managed to produce all kinds of wonderful
treasures without the benefit of Norm's shop. How did they do it?

While building some shelves I had an epiphany of sorts. These planes are
really neat. I like the finish it leaves on the wood. After that I started
looking for old planes. At the same time I started attending auctions.

I currently have about twenty some old planes plus assorted other old tools.
I have been building my collection of non old tools for quite a few years.
The collection grew much faster after I bought the house.

I now attend auctions on a regular basis. I probably spend way
too much time hunting for old tools and not enough time using them.
I need to build a good workbench and get all of my tools organized.

I'm looking forward to getting involved in the discussions here.
