Push over and let a new guy have some room on the porch.

I recently got the fever for woodworking and oldtools. I have a
wife and three kids and a brand-new house. It is all white and bland
inside, and I want to have a crack at the trim carpentry, built-in
entertainment center, shelves and workstation for the study, deck, playroom
and probably a thousand other projects.

I do patent searches in the electrical and mechanical arts for
DuPont here in Wilmington, Delaware.

I have been routing around in flea markets for used tools and have
had a little success. Just bagged a water level for that deck and trim work
for $9.00 an hour ago on my lunch hour.

Tonight I plan on attending my first "Delaware Woodworking Guild"
meeting. I have signed up for an "Introduction to Woodworking" class the
count Parks and Recreation will be holding in February. I have been reading
every woodworking book in the county library system.

Can anyone tell me the usefullness of a hand grinder. I know of
one, and can use a grinder for sharpening chisels and irons. I am looking
for comments on how easy it is to use, or if I should go with a motorized one.

Regards,
Steve
