Hate to differ, but I've seen a few badgers, at the market of the flea,
tool auction,
and car boot sales. Many 10 planes in all.  They all had no knicker or
stops
at all. Just a blade, skewed, so that it comes all the way
to one edge.

I'd always assumed they were for BIG, carpenter/joiner graade
rebates.

If you've seen them with all the "bells and whistles" I guess badgers
are more varied than either of us previously thought.
