Not sure that it has to be a Stanley thumbscrew ... just measured the one on
my 1990 vintage #80 ... it's a 10-32 x 3/4" thread ... might be able to find
that at a fastener supply house, but I'd also consider taking a 5/16
thumbscrew, grinding or filing off the threads and running a 10-32 die down
what's left, getting a large head on your new thumbscrew in the bargain.
Wouldn't be a "pure" Stanley.  Then again, we're not talking about a "pure"
antique tool to begin with and our venerable ancestors used to modify their
tools all the time.
