I picked up an old and disreputable looking crosscut saw a while ago for the
princely sum of 50p, and once it came out of the zap tank, it turned out to
have a name stamped on the blade. As it's on the blade rather than the
handle, I'm assuming it's a maker's mark: I seem to recall that this is a
feature of lower quality saws? Anyway, the name is F (or perhaps T) Wright,
from Wandsworth, SW (Sarf London, innit?) and I was just curious to know if
anyone had stumbled across him? The handle s quite nice: beech with a flat
section at the bottom: is this an indication of that the saw dates from the
nineteenth century, or have I just been at the single malt too much recently
(Bushmills, Co. Antrim, naturally)?
