Steel! Hello All: Much of the following is at the web site as well and, as a short cut to reading all this verbiage you can go right to: The main information page with pictures: http://www.kcwtw.com/sshaveshtm/shavespg.html or the other information page with pricing http://www.kcwtw.com/sshaveshtm/shvtxt.htm or (my favorite) the Order Form: http://www.kcwtw.com/ordforms/ordform.html All the pages are new on the web site so please refresh. The new index is: http://www.kcwtw.com/I'll also be adding some new pages with the shaves in use in a couple days and I have some much better close-ups of the blades coming so please check back a couple days. The Important KCWTW Spokeshave Facts: The blades are made of A2 steel, they are very flat and will require just a little dressing to make them ready for use. The better edge holding ability of this steel makes it possible to grind a shallower bezel; they produce very fine shavings. The (larger) "Standard" size is designed to be interchangeable with existing blades made by Ron Hock or Conover. The blades will thus fit stocks made by Conover or Dave Wachnicki or John Gunterman or any stocks made from their designs. The small blade is the same size as the one made by Ron Hock and so should also fit any stock (Wachnicki or Gunterman) made for that blade. Pricing: I have worked very hard to get the costs on these things down as much as possible in order to make the price competitive. The Conover replacement blades are much less expensive but there is a big difference in both material and finish quality. All prices include standard First Class U.S. postage. All prices in U.S. currency. If you need blades shipped out of the North America please contact me via e-mail. Standard Spoke Shave Blade - A2 Steel: 4 1/2" x 1/2" x 1/8" in thickness (cutting edge 2 3/4"); includes two (mounted) threaded tang studs and two brass knurled nuts: $26.00 Small Spoke Shave Blade - A2 Steel: 2 1/2:" x 7/16" x 3/32" in thickness (cutting edge 1 1/2"); includes two (mounted) threaded tang studs and two brass knurled nuts: $20.00 ////I'm offering an introductory discount for the folks on the oldtools mailing list. This will probably be up for just a short time.//// Some of you will want both sizes and some might want to make shaves for both flat and radius work so I'll reduce the price a little for multiples: We will discount a standard and small ordered together by $5.00, or $41.00; a pair of the large would be discounted to $47.00, saving $5.00; a pair of the small, $35.00, also saving $5.00. Terms: As usual don't send a check until I ask for it. Please fill out the order form at: http://www.kcwtw.com/ordforms/ordform.html or e-mail me directly at: kbrennan@u... Those who have dealt with me in the past know I never deposit checks until I actually ship (at least, that is my policy with list members). Thanks! kb Kevin Brennan KCWTW kbrennan@u... www.kcwtw.com | |||
