68432 SSalbWW@a... Sep-23-1999 Q: Using a hand grinder.

Well, I just received a hand grinder in the mail and I tried it out this
morning. But I realized by experimenting that I don't know how to use it.
(I know, I know, turn the knob and go, right?) OK, I have a few specific
questions:
1. Do you turn the wheel toward the iron or away from it?
2. Is there any good technique to use to run the iron along the wheel, left
and right?
3. I tried making the wheel square with a rock-like rod I bought from
Woodcraft, but didn't seem to make any progress. . . hmmm, any ideas? AND
4. Any ideas on the easiest way to make a foot treadle?

Thanks!
