64106 "Bob Key" <bobkey@m...> Jun-16-1999 Moving and Rambling

Well, we are in a new house. We weren't really planning to sell the
old house, but we got an offer out of the blue that allowed us to
build our dream house (same house plan, reversed, in the middle of
the woods).

Moving our stuff was hard but we had lots of help. Moving the shop
was about as hard as moving everything else. I've got most of the
shop out of the old house with final cleanup due this weekend. The
new owner is a friend and an aspiring galoot - he's been enjoying
my shop even as I was dismantling it. The new shop, which is
almost identical except for being backward, is now a shambles.

Except for one area. My hand tools are all ready to work. In fact, I
was able to start using them as soon as we got in. My 'other' tools
may not be going for a few months.

One interesting thing happend with my tool cabinet:

I unloaded it completely for the move, and wrapped each tool
individually. Nothing got broken or even scratched. But putting it
back exactly like it was turned out to be more difficult than I
expected. I didn't have internet access so I couldn't look at my
photo. Most of the tools go to obvious places but many of the
planes are very close in size. The lower right quadrant had me
stumped (I've added a few tools since the picture). It took me a
half hour to figure out exactly how the match plane was supposed
to be hung. I guess I should document better next time.

If you are traveling through Georgia, give us a hollar as you pass
through Good Hope. We have a fine front porch with rocking
chairs, a swing and a couple of ceiling fans. Seddown and have a
glass of double sweet iced tea. Yawcomeseeus.
