Gentle Ones:

With the recent interest in the Phillips Head Screw and associated
driver I thought I'd toss this one out.

Who knows when and to whom the original patent was awarded for the
phillips head screw? Finding the patent Number might be fun too.

I'm afraid there's no award/reward for the first correct answer. But, it
might be fun to see who can dig up the info. first.

I had it on one of my web pages for about a year but have pulled that
page down recently for the web site make-over.

In my basic patent search for "phillips head screw", this is what I came
up with from the US Patent office...

411,190  Sept., 1889   Haines   81/437

This was the earliest date from the search associated with phillips...
