David: Don't expect to find many "old tools" for sale anywhere. But, do visit Troyes which is SW of Paris off route A-5 . You must visit the Museum of Tools & Crafts in the Hotel de Mauroy at 7 Trinity Street (right in the middle of town). It's open every day of the year fron 9-12 hrs and 14-18 hrs. The tools are largely 18th C tools marvelously displayed. (Especially see the "anvil display"!). You won't regret going--everyone I know that has visited has anything but raves over it!!!!! Be sure to allow a full day to visit it, or slightly more. --ErvSaws On Fri, 11 Sep 1998 15:45:57 -0700 dboreham <davidb@i...> writes: > >I'm going to France on a tool-hunting expedition (oops, I meant >to say "honeymoon"). > >Where to look ? > >We'll be in Paris, and autres destinations west and south. > > > > > >-- > > | |||
