    Thanx for all of the help and suggestions.  I think there are a combination
of problems.  The ground angle is too acute (about 22 degrees).  The chisels
weren't blue when I got them, but they had been cleaned.  I'm going to try
changing the angle first and then grinding them back.  If that doesn't work I
guess I'll try re-tempering.  Does anyone know of a good web site for
re-tempering instructions?
