Larry mentioned a guy in Washington who fills hang holes.

Filling these holes has got to be dead easy and invisiblewhen done 
right.  If you can weld and can figure out which rod to use.  But and 
a very big butt it has to destroy whatever Japaning is present to get 
it that hot. And make a lot of smoke too.  Don't you think.  I also 
agree that if these holes had any effect on function the old timers 
would not have drilled them.
