I spotted what appeared to be a wooden jointer plane this weekend, that
is untill I turned it over, it was actually a hollow( the shape of the
plane itself),

But this thing was 3 inches wide and  18 inches or better long
and the arc was  probally 1/2 to 3/4 inches deep

was this a special purpose plane? a user retrofit?
it did not look ot have been modified but I am no expert in the wooden
plane arena.
