Forgive the absolutely stupid question, but if you want to just touch up the edge of your iron when planing do you bother to remove the cap iron or just give the bevel a few swipes and throw it back in the plane? Seems like it'd save a lot of time to not take the cap iron off, but then you can't remove the wire edge (assuming there is one when just taking a few swipes).
