Yes, this is where I got the stock.  It wasn't cheap, but it was worth 
every penny.

About 30 years ago, when I was learning to turn, I used to get my bowl blanks
from the. I'd go through their cut-offs pile and select a dollar amount worth of
wood. Spent a lot of lunch money over there. They'd take pity on me and cut me a
lot of slack.
I didn't know until later just what was going on. I started out thinking that
fiddleback maple and flamed Walnut were normal turning woods. Life was good. My
spindle stock was the off-cuts from when they were making rifle stocks for the
re-enactors. Gorgeous wood.
