The days get shorter, the nights get colder, and well, winter is soon to
be upon us. The flea markets are getting lighter, vendor wise, and well
stuff is getting harder to find by the minute but I keep at it.
I'd really prefer a check for payment for all items. On items less than
$25 (not including shipping) no PayPal. On combined purchases totaling
over $25 then PayPal is okay. This is for the USA buyers only. The out
of country folks, PayPal will be accepted for all purchase, unless you
want to send me a US denominated money order, then that is fine. Sorry
for the inconvenience but I'm just trying to cut the costs down a bit here.
And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!
First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it get's it.
Oldtools terms, except on items and orders over $100, if I don't know
ya or haven't done business in the past (and my records good way back..)
then it's pre-pay. I do take PayPal (except as noted). Prices do not
include shipping. All items are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.
Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item is optional.
Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via First
Class mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping cover
the cost of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.
Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

Uncommon Millers Falls Master Ratchet No 832 10 Inch Sweep Brace. This
weighs 3 lbs 1 1/2 oz unboxed. This was made by Millers Falls only
between 1910 and 1919. This is in reasonable condition and was lightly
cleaned. There are some light spots on the frame and ratchet. A
previous owner did get a little happy with his name stamp on the frame
and ratchet cover, as well as on the underside of the pad. The guy must
have worked with a real bunch of thieves, eh? The chuck, jaws, and
ratchet all are good, but they could stand a drop of oil. The grip and
pad have some dings and wear. The pad has a little play on the shaft.
This ain't minty and it sure ain't gotta minty price either. $45.00

Early Hand Forged PA Dutch Style Felling Axe Head. Measuring 5 11/16"
long (across the center), the edge is 3 7/16" high (straight across),
and this weighs 2 lbs 12 1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker.
This is in reasonable condition for the age and use and was cleaned.
This was being used until recently and had been cleaned before. There
is some patina overall. The edge has some small dings. Someone else
cleaned the mushrooming off of the poll but they did a good job of it.
The poll has some light dings but nothing too bad there. The eye is
good with no cracks that I can see. There are some grinder scuffs on
the underside and the edges of the eye wings. I sure ain't been seeing
too many of these guys around. $32.00

Hand Forged Early Gun Makers or Wagon Tongue Vise. The body is 5 7/16"
high, the jaws are 2 1/2" wide, this will fit up to a 1 1/2" thick bench
top (maybe a little more but not much, read on), and this weighs 3 lbs 4
1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent
condition for the age and was cleaned. There is the usual patina for a
tool of this age. The jaws have some dings, file marks, and a couple of
small chips. They close up tight and flush. The cross-hatching on the
faces is worn but there is a little there. The main screw is good. The
spinner bar is a little bent and takes some futzing with to get it to
move completely from one side to the other. The spring isn't the
heaviest but it does the job. The threads on the screw for the clamp
are worn a bit. I clamped this on a board and it held okay but I didn't
do any heavy work with this, so I'd plan on using the screw holes on the
top of the bracket as well. This ain't perfect but then these guys
rarely are and well considering that it's at the least, 150 years old or
older, well I have seen worse. $45.00

Old Roundball Black Powder Bullet Mold. Measuring 5 7/8" long, the
cavity is .55 in diameter (according to my micrometer here), and this
weighs 2 3/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, stamped 40 on the
one arm. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There
are some spots of pitting on the outside of the head, a few on the arms,
and a little rust up where the sun don't shine. The cavities have a
little crusty but that will cook off as this is heated and used. There
is a whisker of daylight showing between the heads when this is close
but nothing too bad there. The sprue cutter is a little dinged and
could stand a swipe or two with a file. The joint is good. I sure
ain't been seeing too many of these guys around of late. $28.00

Old Stanley Gage No G5 Type 4 Jack Plane. This weighs 3 lbs 11 1/4 oz
unboxed. This is a Type 4, which has the G prefix on the model number,
the 1920 patent date, and Made In USA cast into the toe. This was made
before 1941. The blade bar does have the Stanley Rule & Level mark.
This is in decent condition and was cleaned. Note this is straight,
any bending you see is because of camera lens distortion, although why
folks would think that I would sell a bent plane is beyond me. This is
a former school plane, but a lot of these guys were used as such. The
left side (looking from the rear) has a couple of spots of pitting, some
dings, scratches, and a stamped school name. The right side has some
scratches, dings, and a scratch marked school ID. The sole has some
scratches and dings. There are some scratches around the mouth where
chips were taken out the hard way. The japanning is original and 98%
present. The cap is good other than a few tiny bit of paint and the
chipbreaker is good as well. The blade has some staining and a few tiny
spots but it's got a lot of life left in it. The blade will need a
sharpening. The tote, well that had 2 coats of paint (orange and red)
on it. I got most of that off. There is an old repair down at the
bottom but it's solid and there is some good honest wear on the sides.
There is a little chipping on the horn. The knob has some dings and
wear as well. All the screws work and were oiled. This ain't minty,
but then few of these guys are, and it sure ain't got a minty price
either. $60.00

Early Hand Forged Denglestock PA Dutch Scythe Sharpening Anvil.
Measuring 7 3/4" long, the face is 1 5/8" wide, and this weighs 1 lb 13
1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. Now what's a denglestock
(also spelled dengelstock and a bunch of other ways as well), you ask?
Well them old PA Dutch (German) farmers, being of a thrifty (also know
as cheap) bunch, instead of grinding down their scythe blades, would
stick the denglestock into a stump or the top of a fence post and using
a cross peen hammer (called the dengle of all things) would draw out the
edge of the blade till it was sharp and then dress it with a stone.
Pretty neat eh? This is in decent shape and was cleaned. This does
have a steel face set into the wrought iron body and that is some right
hard steel. The face may have been replaced at some time in the past
but that's the way that they did things back then. The face has some
light patina, a few tiny chips off the side, and the one end. The body
has the usual patina. The spike is good. These guys with the wider
faces sure don't show up very often. $25.00

7 3/16" long and this weighs 5 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is a
little patina there and here but nothing too bad. The jaws are good.
There is a spring under the joint that forces the jaws open, which is a
right handy idea if you ask me. The joint works smoothly. The handle
socket is good as well. These small ones are sure few and far between
and this is the first time that I've seen one with a spring. $30.00

weighs 1 oz unboxed. Made in France. This is in decent condition and
was not cleaned. The celluloid is a bit discolored from age. The
scales are readable and the slide works smoothly. The sliding window
also is a little discolored. This also has an English standard rule on
the top and a metric one on the back. The leather case has some wear
but it's solid for the most part. This ain't perfect but I sure don't

Uncommon Mahogany Smooth or Smoothing Plane With Iron Sole. Measuring 7
1/2" long, a little over 2 3/4" wide, the iron is 2 1/4" wide, and this
weighs 3 lbs 7 1/2 oz unboxed. The only maker's mark on the body is a 6
pointed star which I have seen on at least 2 other planes in the past.
The iron is a Buck Bros and the cap iron is a Ward & Payne, which if you
know your tool making history, was the firm that the Buck Bros started
working at before coming over here. This is in well used condition and
was cleaned. The mahogany body has some wear and the one cheek is
cracked out. The heel has some roughness from being hit with a hammer.
The toe is good. The cast iron sole is good other than some light
scratches and frosting. The wedge has some wear and cracks at the top.
The cap iron is good. I did clean some sharp mushrooming off of the
top and side edges of the iron. The cutting face has some light
frosting and some staining but there is lots there. This ain't perfect
and it sure ain't got the price of a perfect one of these. $35.00

blade and frame. The edges aren't sharp but could be brought back to

has a few tiny spots of pitting but it sure ain't bad. The handle is

rulings are readable. The handle is good for the most part and has most
of the original japanning. I had to shoot some penetrating oil into the

Some of these were marked Ford and I think that this one is but it's
very faint so don't run to the bank on just that. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. There is some overall light patina. The
chuck and ratchet are good and were oiled. The alligator jaws are good
as well. The grip and pad are aluminum. The grip has S 2 stamped on
it. That has the usual light dings and wear that are found on aluminum
tools. The same goes for the pad. I did replace 2 of the screws that
hold the pad to the plate because they were missing but when you get as

spots of brass on it. The handle looks to be oak and has some nice
figure to it. There is some chipping off the end on both sides and some
wear to the turning below the ferrule. The blade is in tight. I have

spots. The corners and edges are sharp. The head was repainted. There
also is a name scratch marked on the one side of the head. The machined

teeth are 1/8" wide, and this weighs 1 lb 6 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed
as to the maker. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.
The teeth are sharp. This has a brass face on the lower jaw and that
has a few light dings from being used. The joint is good with just a
hint of wiggle. The handles had been wrapped with some old cloth tape
and I did take that off. This is what it is, but it is a neat and
probably one of a kind tool. $25.00

North Bros Yankee No 35 Push Screwdriver. This all weighs 7 1/4 oz
unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and was lightly cleaned.
The chuck is good and was oiled. Same for the extension. NOTE: This
does not have the spring, that's the No. 135 model. All off the plating
is present. The handle has the original finish plus a coat of wax.
There are some tiny dings but this is better in that department than
most of these guys that I see. This comes with the 3 original bits.
They have some light staining and what have you, the blades and tips are
all good. This ain't pristine but it sure ain't bad either. $17.00

diameter, 17 7/16" long, the lower one is a No. 5, 5/16" in diameter,
18" long, and they weigh 5 3/4 oz unboxed. These are NOS, that's New
Old Stock. I did clean off a bit of set around and do nothing type
patina. The tips still have the factory coating. These long skinny
ones sure don't show up very often, especially in this kind of shape.

Whitcher Patent 1887 No 2 Cobblers Lasting Pliers. Measuring 7 3/8"
long, the jaws are 1/4" wide at the tips, and this weighs 6 3/4 oz
unboxed. Frank W. Whitcher of Boston, MA was granted Pat. No. 372,246
on Oct. 25, 1887 for the design of this tool. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. There are a few small pitting spots but
overall it's not too bad for the age. There is a little mushrooming on
the top of the upper jaw but the jaws are good otherwise. The through
the center joint has a little wiggle. The hammer poll has some wear but
most of the pattern is still present. The hammer poll does not unscrew.
The handles are good. This size never had a tack claw on the end.
This ain't perfect but these smaller ones sure don't show up much at all
any more, at least around here. $22,00

Stanley No 43 Saw Set or Sawset. This weighs 1 lb 8 3/4 oz unboxed.
This is in used but good shape. The only cleaning was to get rid of
some dust around the head. The finish is original and is good other
than the odd small ding. The plated parts are a little dulled. The
anvil and plunger are good. All the screws work, including the fence
locking screw. This ain't minty but as these guys go, this sure ain't
bad either. $28.00

overall, the blade is 2 1/8" long, 5/16" in diameter, and this weighs 1

William Narmar & Co Sheffield Putty Knife. Measuring 6 7/8" long, the
blade is 1 3/16" wide at the edge, and this weighs 1 1/4 oz unboxed. I
did some digging and nothing turned up on this marker. The crown mark
does point to the middle of the 19th Century as to the age. This is in
decent condition and and was cleaned. There is some patina on the
blade. There is a visible forge weld line on the back where the blade
was attached to the tang but this isn't cracked. There is some funky
between the blade and the handle. The handle has a check at the top but
the blade is in tight. There are some dings and stains, all the mark of
a well used tool. These guys sure don't show up very often, at least
around here. $16.00

1/2 oz unboxed. This is in good condition and was cleaned by someone
else. There is a little staining on the edge but this has most of the
original japanning. The knob has some stains and was refinished. This
is what it is, but if you need one, well finding one sure ain't that
easy. $17.00

Big Old B M Co Forged Steel Turnscrew or Screwdriver. Measuring 18 1/2"

reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The blade has some light
patina, mostly frosting, but there are some patches of light pitting.
The handle has some wear and dings and it is a little flattened at the
end. The blade is in tight but it's pinned through the ferrule. This
ain't perfect but as these guys go, well it sure ain't bad. $25.00

Two Vintage Rosewood Cobblers Leather Edgers or Burnishers. The upper
one is 7 1/16" long, the lower one is 7 1/8" long, and they weigh 7 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. These are in used but good shape
and were cleaned. There are some dings and marks from being stitched
against, mainly on the lower one, but nothing too bad there. All four
faces are good. I have to say that this is some right pretty rosewood
and I also have to say, that these guys are sure getting few and far
between, at least around here. $26.00

C S Osborne Harrison NJ Magnetic Head Tack Hammer. Measuring 11"
overall, the head is 5 5/8" long, and this weighs 12 1/2 oz unboxed.
This is in good shape and was lightly cleaned. The head has some light
staining and some light dings. Both faces are good and the magnetic end
is, well, magnetic. The handle has almost all the of the original
finish. There are a few dings but nothing too bad. The head is on
tight setting here but things do loosen up in shipping. The tack claws
are good. This ain't pristine but it sure ain't bad either. $18.00

Vintage Solid Brass Glass Cutter. Measuring 4 1/4" long and this weighs
1 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker just marked France on the
head. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. Was used a few
times as well. The head has a few light dings on the sides from tapping
the glass. The wheel spins freely and the screw works. I can't say how
sharp it is. The handle is good. That is hollow and has a screwdriver
inside. These originally came with extra wheels but this is down to the
last one. This ain't pristine but these are neat tools. $14.00

C S Osborne Harrison NJ 11/16 Inch Arch Punch. This weighs 9 1/4 oz
unboxed. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The head is

Odd Looking Screw Lock 7 Inch Adjustable Bevel Square. The blade is 7
1/4" long, the handle is 4 3/16" high, and this weighs 5 1/2 oz unboxed.
This is marked something Germany at the one end of the slot. This is
in decent condition and was cleaned. The plating on the blade has some
scratches and scuffs and a few small spots of patina. The handle is cast
iron. That is good other than the paint being worn in the center. The
locking screw works. This ain't the prettiest but it will get the job
done and it is the first one like this that I have seen. $14.00

Old H & B No 8 Round Face Cement Groover or Gutter Tool. Measuring 6
1/16" long, 3 3/4" wide, the head is 1 1/8" high, and this weighs 1 lb
12 oz unboxed. Marked H & S and 8 on the inside. This is in used but
good shape and was cleaned. There is some staining on the face and one
small spot of very light pitting, but nothing too bad there. The handle
has some stains and dings but it's solid. I tried the screws and they
do turn but I did not have the handle off of the tool. This ain't
perfect but it feels like a quality tool and you sure ain't gonna walk
into the big box stores and get one of this quality any more. $18.00

Vintage Cast Steel 5 Inch Wing Compass or Divider. Measuring 5 1/8"
from the top of the joint to the tips and this weighs 3 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker, just marked Cast Steel. If I had to make a
guess, I'd say that this is a Bemis & Call but that's just a guess.
There is a user name stamped on both arms of the back. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned. There are some dings and light patina
but considering that this is well over 100 years old, well it sure ain't
bad. The tips are a little dulled. The joint is good. The locking
screw and fine adjustment nut both work and were oiled. This ain't
minty but it will get the job done. $16.00

Old Red SRD Comfort Straight Razor Hone. Measuring 5 1/8" long, 1
15/16" wide, 1/2" thick, and this weighs 7 1/2 oz unboxed. Overall
this is in decent condition. The only cleaning was to give the stone a
bath. The top is glazed a bit and there are a few light dings. The
underside has some light dings as well and there is a chip off of the
one corner. The box is rough, the one corner on the lid is open, and
there is some overall wear. But at least it's there. This ain't
perfect but it sure don't have the price of a perfect one either. $17.00

this weighs 6 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in n
reasonably good condition for the age and use and was cleaned. There is
some light patina but nothing too bad. The face and groove are good
other than some light pitting. The striking end has a small bloom of
mushrooming but nothing too obnoxious. First one of these guys that I
have had in a very long time. $20.00

Old Wood Horned Scrub Plane. Measuring 10" long, 1 7/8" wide, the iron
is 1 1/4" wide, and this weighs 1 lb 10 1/2 oz unboxed. The toe is is
marked H Dopke which is a user name. The iron is by Vomcleff & Co New
York, who is a known maker but there are no working dates available.
This is in decent condition and was cleaned. Note this is straight, any
bending you see is because of camera lens distortion, although why folks
would think that I would sell a bent plane is beyond me. There are some
dings and stains but this wasn't made to do a pretty job in the first
place, There are score marks on both sides but the body is one piece.
The sole has some wear and dings. The mouth is good for the kind of
use. The horn is good. I did glue that into the body as the dovetail
slot was a bit worn. The iron has some spots of light pitting, mainly
by the edge, but there is plenty there to work with. I did clean some
sharp edges of mushrooming off of the top. The wedge is good. This
ain't perfect but it will get the job done. $30.00

Old Different Looking Grooved Cobblers Tool Head. Measuring 3 13/16"
overall in length, the head is 2 13/16" wide (straight across), 1 1/4"
wide (excluding the side step), and this weighs 12 1/4 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker. I used to know what this was called but I can't
seem to dredge it out of the old memory banks. This is in reasonably
good condition and was cleaned by someone else. There isn't munch in
the way of patina to fuss about. There is a little funky down in the
grooves but nothing too bad. The grooves were scored by hand, the ends
aren't evenly lined up like you would see with machined tool. The tang
is good. This would need a handle to put it back into use but that is
easy enough to do. I have to say that I sure don't see too many like
this around. $20.00

1/16" high (straight across), and this weighs 1 lb 4 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker. This is in reasonably good condition and was
not cleaned by me. There is some rust staining on the head and the odd
small dot but nothing too bad. The edge is good but could stand a
touchup. The cross hatching on the face is good with no wear. The
handle has some stains, dings, and a little chipping at the end. The
head is on tight setting here but things do loosen up in shipping. This
ain't minty but it will get the job done. $17.00

Vintage Wood Coopers Bung Hammer or Mallet. Measuring 14 9/16" overall,
the head is 4 3/4" wide across the top, and this weighs 1 lb 6 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition and
was cleaned. There is the usual patina found on a working tool. The
head has some wear to both faces and some dinging on the sides. There
is a old repair to a chip on the top and a few checks on the head as
well. The handle is the old oval style and could be the original one.
Not all of these had the whip style handles. That has some dings,
including one that might be an indemnification mark. There are some
stains as well. I did tap in the wedges a little and the head is on
tight but things do loosen up in shipping. This ain't minty but these
guys weren't made just to be looked at. $25.00
