Short and sweet. Lots of new items to peruse.

I'd really prefer a check for payment for all items. On items less than
$25 (not including shipping) no PayPal. On combined purchases totaling
over $25 then PayPal is okay. This is for the USA buyers only. The out
of country folks, PayPal will be accepted for all purchase, unless you
want to send me a US denominated money order, then that is fine. Sorry
for the inconvenience but I'm just trying to cut the costs down a bit here.

And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!

First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it get's it.
Oldtools terms, except on items and orders over $100, if I don't know
ya or haven't done business in the past (and my records good way back..)
then it's pre-pay. I do take PayPal (except as noted). Prices do not
include shipping. All items are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.
Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item is optional.
Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via First
Class mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping cover
the cost of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.

Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

Brown & Sharpe Machinist Hardened Patent Combination Square Center
Finder Head. Measuring 3 1/2" across the tips and this weighs 5 1/4 oz
unboxed. John S. Chafee of Providence, RI was granted Pat. No.
2,085,461 on June 29, 1937 for the features of this tool which was made
by Brown & Sharpe. This is in reasonably good shape and was cleaned.
Inside the V is clean other than one small and light pitted spot, and a
few frosted and stained spots. The edges are crisp. There are some
stained spots on the sides as well. The finish is original and good.
The locking screw works just fine. I tried the fine adjustment screws
and they do turn. They are a little stiff but they do move. This will
fit 12 and 18 inch Brown & Sharpe rules as well as the L S Starrett
rules in the same sizes. $18.00

Two Small Machinist Parallel Bar Clamps. The one on the left is an L S
Starrett No. 161-A, the jaws are 2" long, the other one isn't signed as
to the maker, the jaws are 2 3/16" long, and they weigh 5 1/4 oz
unboxed. Both of these are in used but reasonably good shape and were
not cleaned other than me taking some gunk off the screws on the
Starrett (probably graphite). Both have a little funky on the jaws but
nothing too bad there. The screws travel the full distance. They ain't
perfect but they will get the job done. $16.00

frosting but nothing too bad. All the rulings are readable. The edges
are good but the corners have a little wear. This ain't minty perfect
but it will get the job done. $16.00

Stanley

Stanley No 38 1/2 Type 2 4 Inch Machinist Level. This weighs 4 1/2 oz
unboxed. Justus A. Traut and Christian Bodmer, both of New Britain, CT,
were granted Pat. Nos. 562,678 and 562,679 on Jun. 23, 1896 for the
manufacturing methods used in making this tool. This is in reasonably
good condition for the age and was not cleaned. The plating on the face
is good, there is little loss on the screws. Both screws turn. The
clear level vial is good. The body plating is 75% or better. This
ain't perfect but it sure ain't bad either. $20.00

Stanley 3/4 Inch Everlast Bench or Paring Chisel. The blade is 3 1/8"
long, this is 7 15/16" overall, and this weighs 6 3/4 oz unboxed. This
is in decent condition and was cleaned. The back has some light pitting
and rust etching up by the edge but most of that should work out as this
is sharpened. There are few deeper spots farther down the blade. The
front has a few small spots of patina as well. The socket is good with
no cracks. The handle has some stains but again, no cracks. The
striking button is a little flattened but that's why it's there. This
ain't the prettiest but it ain't ready for gasket scraping duty either.

Three Stanley No 370 Series Door Butt Marking Gages. There is a No. 373
3 inch, a No. 373 1/2 3 1/2 inch, a No. 374 4 inch, and they weigh 12
1/4 oz unboxed. These are in decent condition. The only cleaning was
to get some patina off of the cutting edges. They have been used a time
or 6. The edges are reasonably good. The finish is worn on the backs
where they get hit. Stuff happens. The cute plastic cases were all in
pretty sad condition and well not worth trying to save. These ain't the
prettiest but they will get the job one. $12.00

Stanley SW No 813 10 Inch Sweep Brace. This weighs 3 lbs 3 1/4 oz
unboxed. Harry E. Parker of New Britain Conn was granted Pat. No.
1,270,754 on June 25, 1918 for the design of the chuck on this brace.
The mark is on the underside of the threaded area of the chuck. This is
in decent condition and was cleaned (and that didn't take no five
minutes either!). The plating is pretty much of a memory. There is
some light frosting on the chuck and frame. The chuck and jaws are good
and were oiled. There is a wee bit of play between the chuck assembly
and the frame but nothing too bad. The ratchet and lock work. The grip
and pad are either rosewood or cocobolo. They both have some dings and
wear. The pad has a little play on the shaft. This ain't minty perfect
and it sure ain't got that kind of price. $24.00

Orphan Stanley No 1 Brass Body Steel Tip Trammel Point. Measuring 3
15/16" long with the screw all the way in, the body is 1 1/2" high, the
beam slot is about 5/8" high, 1/4" wide, and this weighs 1 1/2 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker but it sure looks like a Stanley to
my eyes. This is in good shape and was cleaned. The body and screw are
good. The steel point has a small area of light pitting down by the
tip. The tip doesn't unscrew but I didn't try real hard either. I wish
I had the pair of these guys but this was the only one to show up. $15.00

Stanley No 18 8 Inch Eureka Flush Adjustable Bevel Square. This weighs
7 1/2 oz unboxed. Christian Bodmer of New Britain, CT was granted Pat.
No. 893,223 on July 14, 1908 as an improvement to Pat. No. 710,178 which
was the original patent for the Eureka bevel square. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. Most of the plating on the body was long
gone when this got here and I took off the rest. The body has light
frosting but nothing serious. The blade does have some overall light
pitting and a few deeper spots along the slot. The edge is good for the
most part. The locking screw is good and does it's job. This ain't
minty but as a user it will get the job done. $18.00

Stanley Handyman No H 432 Saw Set or Sawset. This weighs 10 3/4 oz
unboxed. This is in good shape and was not cleaned. The tool is good
other than a little funky from setting around. I tried the setting
screw and it does work. The plunger could stand a drop of oil. The box
has a repaired corner on the lid and the usual wear. I sure don't see
too many of these guys around in the box. $15.00

Stanley SW No 88 Patent 1915 Clapboard Sliding Marker Gauge. This
weighs 13 oz unboxed. Henry Neistadt of Ames, IA was granted Pat. No.
1,153,171 on Sept. 7, 1915 for improvements in the design of this tool
which was originally patented on July 6, 1886 under Pat. No. 344,937.
This is in decent condition, although better than most of these that I
see, and was cleaned. There are spots on the body where the plating is
work and there is some rusting. The blade has some spots of patina as
well but the tips are good. The oak fence and maple handle are good
other than some stains. The blade screws were oiled and the fence
screws were waxed to prevent rusting. This ain't minty but I sure don't
see too many of this vintage around and especially with the fence. $25.00

Stanley No 4 Smoothing Plane. This is a Type 17 and was made by Stanley
from 1942 until 1945. This has the hardwood tote and knob but they have
the brass nuts and threaded rods, rather than the long bolt you find on
most of the planes of this type. This also has the frog adjustment
screw, also a hit and miss proposition with these guys. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned. The one side has some light rust
etching and both have some light frosting along with a few dings. The
sole has some frosting and scratches but nothing too bad. The japanning
is original and 90% plus present. The lever cap had been plated
originally but that was pretty much gone when it got here. The cap has
some frosting and one small casting flaw. The chipbreaker has some
light patina. The blade has some pitting on the exposed areas. There
is a light band on the cutting face and a few other light spots but
there is plenty to work with. The blade has some chips on the edge and
will need a sharpening. The tote and knob were repainted. They ain't
perfect but they are better than they were. There are some dings on
both but they are solid. All the screws work and were oiled. $44.00
(pictures will be available later today)

The Rest Of The Best

Great Looking Wood D Body Router Plane. The body is 8 13/16" long, 3
13/16" wide, 2 1/16" high, the blade is 9/16" wide at the edge, and this
weighs 1 lb 10 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. The body looks
to be maple. This is in reasonably good condition. I prettied up the
blade, clamp, and nut a little. The body was just given a coat of wax.
The body has some light dings and stains but has almost all of it's
original finish (except on sole). The blade is clean on the cutting
face and close to sharp. The nut and plates look to be bronze rather
than brass but it could be red brass also. The blade clamp works just
fine. I have to say that it's been a long time since I last had one of
these guys in this kind of shape. $45.00

Karpenter 1/2 Inch Timberframer Framing Mortising Chisel. Measuring 10
11/16" from the edge to the end of the socket, the blade is 8" long,
this is 15 1/4" overall, and this weighs 10 oz unboxed. The mark wasn't
completely struck but I know who this is. Karpenter was a brand name of
the Winsted Tool Co who also made the T H Witherby chisels. This is in
good shape and was cleaned. The back has a few scuffs up by the edge
and a few very light frosted and stained spots. There are a few light
dings down in the untreated area above the socket. The front has a
patch of light frosting and some dings. The socket is good. The handle
has some light dings but it's solid. I did not have it off of the tool,
well I tried but it's there for the duration. This ain't perfect but it
sure ain't bad. $48.00

P S & W No 1 Extra 7/8 Inch Round Top Timberframer Framing Mortising
Chisel. Measuring 10 5/8" from the edge to the end of the socket, the
blade is 7 1/4" long, the steel bit is 6 1/2" long down the center, this
is 15 3/16" overall, and this weighs 1 lb 3 1/4 oz unboxed. This is in
reasonably good shape and was cleaned. This is a laminated chisel with
a steel bit on an iron body. The back has some light scuffs up by the
edge and an area of frosting about 1/2 down the blade. There are some
dings on the sides. The top has some frosting and a few dings. The
socket is good other than a few dings on the back. I did take off a
whisker of mushrooming from the top but that's was from the handle
pushing down on it. The handle has some light dings but it's solid. I
did not have it off of the tool, well I tried but it's there for the
duration. I cleaned off some sharp mushrooming from the bang ring and
that's good to go. These guys are sure getting few and far between, at
least around here and with good handles. $60.00

Small Wood Handle Turnscrew or Screwdriver. Measuring 4 1/16" long, a
hair over 3/16" wide at the tip, and this weighs 1/2 oz unboxed. Not
signed as to the maker. This is in good shape and was cleaned. The
blade has some light frosting and one small spot of staining but nothing
too bad. The handle might be maple but whatever it is, does have some
nice figure to it. That is good with no checks that I can see and the
blade is in tight with no help from me. There are some light dings on
the sides and the end. This ain't perfect but as these guys go, well it
sure ain't bad either. $18.00

Goodell-Pratt Greenlee Mass Circle or Gasket Cutter For A Brace.
Measuring 5 11/16" high, 6 3/16" wide, and this weighs 7 1/2 oz unboxed.
This is in good shape and was lightly cleaned. I really don't think
this guy got used much. There are a few spots there and here but
nothing too bad. The blades are good. The adjuster screws work just
fine. The point is good and the set screw that holds the point in does
work. The tang is crispy as they say. I sure don't see too many of
these around any more. $22.00

Two Wire Handle Gimlets or Gimblets. The upper one is marked Germany on
the handle, 6 3/8" long, the cut is 3/16" in diameter, the lower one
isn't signed, that is 7 5/8" long, the cut is 1/4" in diameter, and they
weigh 3 1/2 oz unboxed. These are in decent condition and were
cleaned. There is a little patina, mainly on the handles but nothing
too bad. The lead screws and cutting edges aren't sharp but they will
get the job done. These are neat looking tools and I sure don't see too
many of them around. $12.99

Vintage Porter Ferguson Upholsterer Tack Hammer. Measuring 11 1/4"
overall, the head is 5 11/16" long, the face is 7/16"` in diameter, and
this weighs 12 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good shape and was
cleaned. There is some light patina on the head but nothing worth
kicking the cat over. The face has some light dings. The other end is
lightly magnetized. That is good as well. The handle is the original
one. That has some light dings and stains but the head is on tight
setting here, although things do loosen up in shipping. The tack claw
is good as well. I sure don't see too many of these guys by this maker
around. $22.00

Great Double Ended Cobblers Seamer or Creasing Tool. Measuring 6 1/4"
long and this weighs 4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is
in reasonably good shape, the only cleaning I did was to wipe down the
handle a touch. The heads have some light patina and wear but nothing
too bad. The handle looks to be black walnut, but it it might be
mahogany, some times it's hard to tell them apart. The ferrules are
pewter and nicely done. The handle has a few scorch marks and stains
but it's solid. This is a good looking tool and well I don't think that
you will see too many more like it around. $22.00

H Disston & Sons No 5 1/2 Iron Handle Try Square. The blade is 6", this
is 7 3/16" overall in length, 4 1/2" high, and this weighs 8 3/4 oz
unboxed. This is in reasonably good shape and was cleaned. THe blade
has some lightly frosted spots and staining but nothing too bad there.
The edges and corners are good and all the rulings are readable. The
cast iron handle has a few light dings. The plating on the inside areas
has a little crusty and a few tiny paint spots. This is reasonably true
but if you want Starrett accuracy, well go buy a Starrett. I have to
say that finding one of these guys in this kind of shape is getting hard
to do, at least around here. $20.00

Big Early Stone Mason Granite Pene Hammer Head. Measuring 7 3/4" or
thereabouts in length, the faces are 3" high, 1 3/4" thick across the
eye, and this weighs 7 lbs 7 oz unboxed. This is signed but the only
thing that I can read is Reading PA. I did a quick look through the
archives but I can't find any hammer makers from that location, but a
lot of the smaller makers were never cataloged. This is in reasonably
good shape for the age and use and was cleaned. The one edge is good.
The other one has some light dings and wear but nothing too bad. There
are no cracks that I can see. The eye is good. This was made back in
the day when they made them to last. These guys ain't that common to
start with and a signed one by a PA maker is right uncommon. $27.00
