254518 Erik Levin 2015‑04‑25 What is this tool?
Looks like something I should know, but I am drawing a blank. It was given to me
as a three corner scraper without handle, but it is not.

Cross section is roughly a 60deg segment from a cylinder, with fine grooving on
the most of the cylindrical surface like a knife steel, and the end cut at an
angle. No edge sharp, and the metal is not as hard as a file, but is not soft
(don't want to hit it with a hardness tester)
Ideas?

Maybe I’m being superficial, but to me it just looks like a chisel in need of a
handle, but one that may have been a file at some point.

254521 "Peter Evans" <peterrevans@o...> 2015‑04‑26 Re: What is this tool?
Agree, it is a repurposed file - I have lots of these, including a triangular
burnisher, now that is a lot of work.

Cheers
Peter
