Yup definitely the same tote will fit either.

   In the case of the #5, they are worth about 3-4 times the price of a 
whole plane.
  The number 8 will come up about even/steven for a common plane type in 
good condition.

  Bill Rittner is carving totes. He is getting about 40-50 dollars for a 
knob 'n tote set.
Better hurry though, he is losing money doing it
   (says an old tote carver who knows exactly how long it takes.

   Original rosewood Stanley's run in the $25-50 range, depending on 
condition.
  Lower price for a fairly beat up set.
