Tools come and tools go but there are lots of good ones on this
list. The flea markets are starting to run down for the season so
get the good stuff while you can.

I'd really prefer a check for payment for all items. On items less
than $25 (not including shipping) no PayPal. On combined purchases
totaling over $25 then PayPal is okay. This is for the USA buyers
only. The out of country folks, PayPal will be accepted for all
purchase, unless you want to send me a US denominated money order,
then that is fine. Sorry for the inconvenience but I'm just trying
to cut the costs down a bit here.

And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!

First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it get's
it. Oldtools terms, except on items and orders over $100, if I don't
know ya or haven't done business in the past (and my records good way
back..) then it's pre-pay. I do take PayPal (except as
noted). Prices do not include shipping. All items are shipped with
Delivery Confirmation. Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very
fragile item is optional. Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a
lot more stuff via First Class mail. There will be a small amount
added to the shipping cover the cost of the padded mailer. I don't
get them for free.

Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email traffic!

I have copies of all three of my released CD's available. Price is
$8.00 each plus $2.50 for one for First Class Mail shipping. Can be
combined with most items as far as shipping goes.

You can hear a selection of the songs from all of my CD's on my
Soundclick page.

Pick O' Da Litter

Early Original .59 Roundball Flintlock Bullet Mold For .62 20
Gauge. Measuring 4 9/16" long, the cavities mic out at a hair over
.59, and this weighs 3 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the
maker. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. There is some
overall pitting. The cavities have some light funky inside but
nothing that won't cook off once this is used a few times. There is
a whisker of daylight showing between the jaws when closed but
nothing too bad. There is a small chip off of the edge on the back
but it doesn't go into the cavities. Note the file work on the head
around the sprue hole. That marks this as a pretty early mold. I
have to say that I can could on 3 fingers the number of original
molds that I have had in this size over the years. $45.00

Goodell-Pratt Archimedean Drill. Measuring 16 1/4" long and this
weighs 1 lb 1/2 oz unboxed. Herbert D. Landfair of Westminster, CA
was granted Pat. No. 544,411 on Aug. 13, 1895 for the design of the
chuck used on this and many other drills over the decades. This is
in good shape and was lightly cleaned. The chuck is good. The shaft
has some light patina but nothing too bad. The black walnut grip has
some wear on the edge closest to the chuck. The plate that holds the
pad also has some light patina. The pad is Lignum Vitae and other
than some very light dings is about as good as they get. I gotta say
that these guys do NOT show up very often and rarely are they in this
kind of condition. $40.00

Vintage Mahogany Cabinetmakers Panel Marking Gauge. The beam is 19"
long, 1 1/4" wide, 5/16" thick, the head is 7 3/4" wide, 2" high, and
this weighs 9 1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, there is a
user name on the beam and stamped a couple of times on the
head. This is in good shape for the age and use and was
cleaned. The beam is good other than some very tiny bits of stripper
resistant paint down in the grain. The head that holds the point has
some light wear. The point is good and sharp. The head has some
dings on the edges but no serious flaws. The screw is applewood and
is in good shape as well. This ain't pristine but it sure ain't bad
either. $34.00

Twelve Brookstone Small or Micro Lathe Turning Chisels or
Tools. They weigh 1 lb 1/2 oz unboxed. These are in good shape and
were cleaned. Why you ask? Because the Einstein that had them at
the flea market, let them get wet when it started to rain and never
bothered to wipe them off. Welcome to my world. Note these are
straight, any bending you see is because of camera lens
distortion. The blades are clean other than some stained spots
except for the No 2 which has some light pitting on the one side up
by the edge. The handle finish is good on all of them. Bottom line,
these guys ain't minty but they sure ain't common either. $45.00

Uncommon Sargent V.B.M. No 714C Auto-Set Jack Plane. This weighs 3
lbs 14 1/4 oz unboxed. This has the Jan. 12, 1915 patent date behind
the frog. Albert A. Page of New Haven, CT was granted Pat. No.
1,124,325 for the design of this tool. This is in reasonable
condition and was cleaned. Note this is straight, any bending you
see is because of camera lens distortion, although why folks would
think that I would sell a bent plane is beyond me. The sides have
some dings and spots of light pitting. The sole has some frosting
and a few small spots of pitting. The japanning is original and 85%
present. The cap is good and the threads on the adjuster are good as
well. The depth adjuster screw goes down smoothly but binds a little
on the way up. The blade has some rust etching on the center and
back. The cutting face has one small spot of pitting and the odd bit
of that and this but there is still lots to work with. The blade
will need a sharpening. The tote and knob are replacements from a
similar vintage No. 414. The knob has some dings on the top and the
tote has a few small chips off of the horn, but they are better that
what this came with. They do have most of the original finish plus a
coat of wax. All the screws work and were oiled. This one ain't
minty but it sure ain't got the price that a minty one would bring
either. $85.00

Tower & Lyon Chaplins Patent 1872 Transitional Wood Body
Plane. Measuring 14 7/8" long and this weighs 3 lbs 13 1/2 oz
unboxed. Orril R. Chaplin of Boston, MA was granted Pat. No. 126,519
on May 07, 1872 for the design of this tool. Tower & Lyon were New
York NY hardware dealers and tool makers in business from 1862 until
1902. This is in decent condition and was cleaned and refinished by
someone else. The body has the usual dings and wear. The sole has
some chips but the mouth is reasonably tight. The frame was
repainted. The cap is good but does show some evidence of being
cleaned on the underside. The blade is the correct one but it does
have some noticeable pitting. Shame because there is a lot left
there. The knob is good. The tote has an old repair to the horn and
a repaired crack farther down. I did not have that or the knob off
but whoever cleaned this guy must have. This ain't perfect but then
Chaplins Patent transitional planes do not show up every day, week,
month, or even year. $60.00

Uncommon E F Dixie Worcester MA Spokeshave or Spoke Shave. Measuring
9 1/2" long, the blade is 2 1/8" wide, and this weighs 10 1/2 oz
unboxed. E. F. Dixie was a tool maker who made wrenches and iron
spokeshaves in Worcester MA around 1851. This is in decent condition
and was cleaned. The japanning is pretty much a memory. The sole
has one spot of pitting and some frosting. The cap has some light
pitting. The blade is pretty much at the end of things but it is
close to being sharp and with a little care in sharpening this could
be lightly used. All the screws work and were oiled. This isn't
perfect but there sure ain't too many of these guys around by this
maker. $25.00

Early Mahogany Slitting Gage or Gauge. The beam is 11 3/16" long, 1
7/16" wide, the head is 4 3/8" wide, 3" high, 1 9/16" thick, and this
weighs 11 3/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, there are user
initials on the head and arm. Both the lower part of the head and
the underside of the beam have bone or some other natural material
plating. This is in well used condition and was cleaned. The beam
has some dings and wear. The plating on the beam is chipped off on
the working side and there is some wear. The wedge is ebony. That
has a ding on the finial but it is solid. The blade is reasonably
good but I cant' say if it's original or not. The head has some
dings and chips. There is some wear to the head and the
plating. Just imagine how many thousands of times this was used to
put that kind of wear on this. There is no wedge for the
head. Again, there is NO wedge for the head. The head does remove
from the beam. This ain't perfect by any stretch and it is not a
user, but then not every tool is. If it was in better shape, there
would be 1 in front of the price because that's what these guys sell
for when you can find one. $40.00

Old Hall 8 Inch Adjustable Machinist Bench Level. The base is 7
15/16" long, 1 3/16" wide, and this weighs 1 lb 2 oz unboxed. I
believe that is was made by the Frank Hall company out of Ohio. This
is good shape. The only cleaning was to pretty up the machined
surfaces and wipe down the body. The yellow level vial is good. I
tried the screw and the adjustment nuts and they both work. This may
need to be trued but this is an old building and there ain't much for
passes as level here. The body finish is worn in a couple of
spots. The machining on the sides and underside isn't the prettiest
but there are no problems there to speak off. I have to say that
this style of level by this maker does not sure up very often. $40.00

H O White Hebron Ct No 4 Taylor Patent Iron Brace. Measuring 11 1/8"
long, the sweep is 6 1/2", the throw is 3 1/4", and this weighs 1 lb
2 1/4 oz unboxed. Not much is known about H O White other than he
started making braces around 1830 in Hebron CT. The mark is a bit
faint but it can be read. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. There is some overall light pitting. The chuck is good
with no cracks that I can see. The bit catch is good. The pad has
some crusty on the inside and pitting on the back. The pad has play
on the shaft but it ain't going to fall off. While Taylor patent
braces aren't uncommon, one with this mark in this size is pretty
close to the rare rating. $40.00

Old Unplated Beech Wood Cabinet Makers Bitstock. Measuring 14 5/18"
long, the sweep is 8", the throw is 4", and this weighs 1 lb 5 3/4 oz
unboxed. This is signed, looks like Buchanon on the back arm in
ink. There are a few user intials as well stamped there and
here. This is in reasonably good shape for the age and was
cleaned. The body has some light dings and wear but there are no
cracks or repairs which is uncommon with this style of bitstock. The
chuck is good and lined with iron or steel as was the practice. The
spring and bit catch are good. This one has the button on the right
side of the head (looking from the rear) but that is how it was
made. I did have the chuck off the tool. The pad is Lignum
Vitae. That has a check on the turn where it meets the body and one
on the head. There are a couple of dings as well but all things
considered that isn't bad at all. I have to say that it's been more
than a few years since I had one of these guys in this kind of shape. $55.00

Rare Early Hand Forged Broom Makers Hammer. Measuring 9 3/4"
overall, the head is about 4 5/16" long, 2" wide at the top, 2 1/8"
wide at the bottom, and this weighs 1 lb 6 oz unboxed. Not signed as
to the maker. This is in very good condition and was cleaned by
someone else but they did a good job. The center of the head and the
handle has some light patina but that's to be expected. Both of the
edges are good. I have to say that while regular broom maker's
hammers are uncommon at best, an early one like this is a rare find
indeed. $50.00

Early Stanley Sargent Patent 1873 Type 1 Eureka 8 Inch Bevel. This
weighs 8 oz unboxed. Samuel D. Sargent of Hartford, CT was granted
Pat. No. 141,081 on July 22, 1873 for the design of this tool. This
in good shape and was cleaned. The blade has some light patina
overall, plus a few smaller spots that are a little heavier. The
body is good for the most part other than a few dings and a little
pitting down at the bottom on the one side. There is most of the
japanning in the centers. The joint and locking screw work like they
are supposed to work. The head of the locking screw does have some
pitting. I didn't have the joint apart. This is not a very common
tool in this vintage and condition at all. $45.00

Vintage Oil Stone Sharpening Stone With Cast Iron Case. The case is
8 5/16" long, 2 3/8" wide, about 1 1/2" high, the stone is 7 7/8"
long, 1 15/16" wide, 15/16" high, and this weighs 3 lbs 13 1/2 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. This is in decent condition
and was cleaned. There is some oil reside but I got rid of most of
it. The case has some wear to the finish and the odd ding on the top
and edges. There are no cracks that I can see. There is a piece of
green felt glued on the inside. The underside has a little patina
but that was never finished to start with. The stone is a man made
stone. I can sort of read Coarse on the one end but it is a double
sided stone. There are some chips on the corners of the one
end. The faces don't look too bad. I don't see much in the way of
wear. This ain't perfect but it sure is the first one like this that
I have see. $50.00

Small Old Blacksmith Hollow Jaw Tongs. Measuring 11 1/8" long, the
jaws are 1 1/16" deep, 1/2" wide at the tips, and this weighs 8 oz
unboxed. Not signed as to the maker. The arms look to be cast
rather than forged. This is in reasonably good shape and was
cleaned. There is a little patina but nothing too bad. It was
painted black originally but that is worn. The jaws are good. The
joint has some wiggle but it ain't gonna fall apart any time
soon. This ain't the prettiest but then neither are you (look in the
mirror if you don't believe me.) $18.00

Stanley Everlast 1 Inch Paring or Bench Chisel. Measuring 6 11/16"
from the edge to the top of the handle, the blade is 3 15/16" long,
this is 9 1/16" overall, and this weighs 8 3/4 oz unboxed. There are
five patent dates stamped on the ferrule but the Stanley name was
not. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The first 3/4" of
the back is clean, then are some light scuffs, then the rest has some
frosting and some small dots of patina. Most of that will work out
as this is sharpened. The top of the blade has some light stuff
going as well. The ferrule has some dings on the back but no cracks
that I can see. The handle is starting to encroach on the ferrule a
little from being hit (hey, the ads say, these guys were for use with
a hammer!) There are some dings and small chips along with the usual
stains but it's not too bad as these guys go. The striking button
has a little mushrooming starting. This one ain't no collector's
classic but it will get the job done. $28.00

years old, and was cleaned. There is some areas of light frosting on
the body but nothing too bad. The cutting edges aren't too bad but

Stanley No 122 Type 4A Liberty Bell Transitional Smooth or Smoothing

made in 1909 according to the type study. There is a B cast into the
underside of the cap and frame and there is no company marking on the
toe. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The sides are
godo with just a little wear. The sole has some scratches and
wear. The japanning on the frame and cap is original and about 90%
present. The cap has a couple of small chips on the one side
edge. The depth adjuster is a little stiff but it does work. The
chipbreaker has some patina, including some dings on the sides. The
blade has some dings on the top and sides as well and there is some
pitting down at the cutting edge, but once you get past that there is
plenty of clean steel. The blade will need a sharpening. The
adjuster spur is good. The knob has some dings on the top and a chip
off of the lower edge. All the screws work and were oiled as

unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, but I don't think it's anything
old. This is in good shape and was lightly cleaned. The jaw tops
are good. Inside there are some small casting flaws but nothing that
will affect this being used. The main screw is a little stiff but
the moveable jaw does travel the full distance. The swivel works and
the clamp screw is good. This ain't top of the line but for small

cleaned. There are a few spots of that and this but nothing too bad.
Little wear and a few light dings complete the picture of
devastation. I do not have the screws, this was all that I got. It
ain't like you can walk into the local hardware store and buy one of
these off of the shelf any more. $23.00

Vintage 1 oz Ball Peen Hammer. Measuring 4 13/16" high, the head is
1 3/4" across, and this weighs 1 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to
the maker. This is in reasonably good shape and was cleaned. The
face has some very light dings and the peen is good. There are some
dings on the sides of the eye. EW made his mark on the handle and
probably was the artist of record. That carving is pretty neat if
you ask me. The handle has some light dings and staining but it's
solid and on the head tight, well at least setting here. One ounce
ball peen hammers aren't all that common to start with and with a
handle like this, well this is a great little tool. $22.00

in tight with no help from me. These guys sure ain't getting any
easier to find, that's for sure. $17.00

the military. The screwdriver and tack claw do not show any

over from when this was made. The face and peen are good. There is
some light pitting on the underside. This what it is but with a
handle it's ready to go. $14.00

Irwin No 20 1 1/14 Inch Auger Bit For A Brace. Measuring 9 1/2"
long, the cut is 1 1/4" in diameter, and this weighs 7 1/2 oz
unboxed. The mark is a bit faint but I figured it out. This is in
decent shape and was cleaned. The lead screw and spurs are
good. The cutters will need a touchup on the sharpening and show
signgs of a previous sharpening but that's easy enough to do on a bit
of this size. The tang has a little wear but nothing too bad
there. This ain't perfect but these larger ones ain't exactly
growing on trees. $12.99

there. The tips are good and the ratchet works in both direction.
There ain't much more to go wrong with these guys. The 3800 is a lot
less common than the No. 3500 model, at least from what I have seen
over the decades. $12.00

Craftsman Machinist Depth Gauge & Protractor. The rule is 6" long
and this weighs 1 1/4 oz unboxed. This in good shape and was

clean other than a few stained spots and the edges and corners are
good. The head has some staining and a little frosting. The screw
works. This was probably made by either Lufkin or Millers Falls for
Sears and well it ain't no piece of junk. $15.00

Old Dikeman Mfg Co No 80 Style Cabinet Scraper Plane. This weighs 1
lb 12 3/4 oz unboxed. This is in decent condition and was cleaned
and repainted. The sole has some light pitting as does the screw
heads and blade bar. The blade has some pitting as well but this
takes the same size blades (2 3/4" wide) as the Stanley No. 80. All
the screws work and were oiled. This ain't the prettiest but it will
get the job done and this style of scraper by this maker does not
show up very often. $24.00

blade one is a little shorter from being sharpened. The screw works
in both holes. This is a neat tool and it's the first one that I
have seen. $17.00
