Thanks to all for your suggestions. I have already been to the flea at the  
fairgrounds, and it is hot and cold with tools, but worth showing up just 
in  case. Believe it or not, I found my first Stanley No. 203 (small, 
non-adjustable  block plane, Jeff) there. I will be sure to visit the
Woodwright's 
school and  store soon, and provide pics to the list. In the mean time, I am 
planning a trip  back to the Pittsburgh area in mid-August.

Pittsboro is not very far from Apex and is the home of Roy  Underhill's
Woodwright's School.  Upstairs from the school is the Tool  Store with
thousands of user-grade tools.
