Chuck, The blade was made from a surgical power chisel blade. It is
.034"/0.88mm Swiss stainless steel. I did the cutting and rough shaping
with a Dremmel w/cut-off wheel. Finished with sandpaper on a block. I
didn't think of it, as I went for the chisel blades first (because they
come in a variety of widths) but at .034" I could have used a piece of

Roy,

I did a double-take when I saw that quarter (US quarter-dollar coin,
Jeff) next to the small coffin smoother. You really did mean SMALL,
didn't you!

How and from what did you make the plane iron?
