I also have a book that was my grandmothers.  The title is something along
the lines of how to make something nice from junk.  My mom gave it to me
when the belongings were divided up after grandpa died.  It was a big joke
because my mom has a wooden ironing board that was loaned to her by her
in-laws with the condition that it would never be turned into a lamp.
