Keep us posted on your progress if you decide to bite this off.  I ordered
a set of Stephen Shepherd's plans from TFWW and will likely do something
similar, adding bits from other plans that catch my interest.  I see a cast
wheel for some old belt drive system sitting in a neighbor's lawn that may
need to be requisitioned for a higher purpose.  I loved the sound of the
belt slapping the wheel on the videos of the Dutch treadle lathe.  Reminds
me of my granddad's blacksmith shop when he'd fire up the belt drive to run
his trip hammer or power hacksaw.
