GG, Today was the SWTCA tool sale and meet over in Tulsa. I dove in the cookie jar shortly after the lid was removed. For this far out in the wilderness I got to see a lot of tools. My tool budget being much the same as the state of tools...better than it has been recently, but not as good as I wish; I didn't buy a lot and I'm not gloating about any of the deals. I scored a couple good things and had enough left to pick up what I consider a bonus. I bougt a good skew block by MF and after a lot of talking to myself about tool budget being for "tools" I broke down and bought paper. An ancient copy of Walters finally came home with me. Then to boot since I haggled so well (almost none)...I skimmed enough off those two purchases to have a little jingle left to buy a MF hand vice. So , I'm happy. PIC HERE... http://tinyurl.com/7gyftca Oh and yeah, that's my tool bag ...so what....8^) Sadly when I was there it was mostly sellers and I really didn't see a lot of selling going on, it wasn't dead but neither was it brisk. I hope they had better participation when they opened to the public later. I get to stay up late tonight looking at the Stanley Book....finally....then up at dawn to wake the neighbors with the weed-eater...ringadingding...ringadingding...ringadingding...hehehehe old men gotta have some fun!!! -- Roy Griggs roygriggs@v... ------------------------------------------------------------------------

You do realize, Roy, that you now have a copy of the "first edition" of John Walter's guide to Stanley tools, and in what looks like reasonably good condition. It may not be as thick as the "Revised Edition" of 1996, but is surely rarer. Good score. Tom Holloway ------------------------------------------------------------------------

GG, Honestly No, Tom I hadn't realized it was a first edition until you said so. I was just so enthused about finally buying any copy. Anyway thanks for telling me.
