now an industrial museum. Whenever I go there, I can't help but come away with
the feeling that I'm an 18th, maybe early 19th, century guy living in the 21st
century. I just love the mechanical engineering type exhibits they have there.
I think about how the things they did back then by mechanical means are most
often done today by electronic means. My mind goes the the amazing changes that
must have happened from about the time of the end of the Civil War to about the
turn of the century. I have yet to run across a book that does a great job of
portraying the changes brought on when the Industrial Revolution got its big
wheels rotating. Any suggestions for a book on the subject that will blow me
away?
