I was wondering if anyone of the members of the list, have a surefire method
of making fresh Beech wood . . . appear 250-300 years old?

I have a wooden plane made by a fellow named "Iohn Davenport" (apprenticed
in Britain in 1693/made free of his company 1704/died 1735). The wedge is
in very poor shape, and may be a replacement. I'd like to do John proud,
and make a proper replacement. I have proper patterns taken off other
original Davenports owned by Friends. I just need a good chemical formula
for a witches brew. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

                                                                I Am Your
Most Humble & Appreciative Servant,

Walt Henderson
