Wes did me good, a MIG welder did the trick on my cracked eye in just a few
minutes. Took a good half hour to cool down enough to handle. Now that welder
looks like a fun toy, though I'm not sure that it would play well with me. I'm
looking at all of the deep cuts in my hands from a weekend of sharpening large
draw knives and there's this tiny voice in my head screaming very loudly.
Although I reckon blood wouldn't be as much of a problem at that temp.

B,
Assuming its not a rare collectible,
clear 3/16 of metal on both sides of the crack using a file and take it to
anyone that owns a MIG welder and it will be usable in about 15 seconds.
No Blacksmith Needed.
(but many blacksmiths have the welder.)
If you show up with the prep work done, I doubt anyone would charge you for it.
Maybe a gift card for a local coffee house would be appreciated, though.

Cheers,
Wes

currently in the north Seattle area.
