I bought a copy and learned a lot from reading it. The chapters are
expert's presentations ("papers") at conservation conferences. A bit
academic=2C but a lot can be gleaned from it. Somebody mentioned using
powdered iron oxide as paint pigment. I believe the resulting color is
named "Tuscan Red" John Ruth Wondering if the purple-ish paint on his
recently-purchased carpenter's chest is milk paint.
