I'd tend to agree with the scraper approach here.
The problem with strippers is that (depending on the
dryness/porous-nature of the wood) you'll have stripper-diluted-paint
work its way down into the grain/cracks that you will probably want to
scrape off anyway.

Where does one get a Ron's #80 scraper blade?  Can't say I have ever been to
"Scraper Nirvana."
