Whilst I admire the immaculately finished and over-engineered tools exemplified by Karl Holtey's creations, I also have a sneaking fondness for the results of "I needed to do a job so I made a quick tool" expediency. I've recently encountered two such items, a hacked-from-oak and a blade held by a coach bolt stail engine (seen at a car boot sale) and a lathe whose simplicity can only be terms "majestic", seen at auction. Herewith for the enjoyment of the assembled galooteri: http://galootcentral.com/components/cpgalbums/userpics/10152/stail.jpg http://galootcentral.com/components/cpgalbums/userpics/10152/old_treadl- e_lathe.jpg BugBear ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |||
