Hi Kyle: 
 There are some French tools in "The Art of Fine
Tools", and obviously, the French are as "with it" as
the next European---for a good while, American tool
seller Wiliam Alden was offering new wooden bench
planes from France, a Goldenberg  (and Stanley) mark,
IIRC.
  Now why aren't there any rock bands from there?
