It is the saw blade. I first tried the butcher saw blade stock and then 
switched to the Delta 1/2" 6 TPI bandsaw blade stock. The Delta blade was 
much, much faster cutting. I found tracking to the line to be easier as 
well.

I intend to try the butcher saw blade stock in my bowsaw for use in 
ripping small pieces.
