      Howdy,

I am a new Galoot. My name is Keith White and I am an Electrical
Engineer with Octel Communications. I live in Dallas Texas. When not
Galooting I spend my time Raytracing on the computer and various other
hobbies which always tend back to woodworking. I have been doing
woodworking of some kind for the past 10 years. I recently (8 months
ago) started plane collecting (to the horror of my wife). This started
out innocent as a $15 purchase for a Type 5 number 4 Stanley (in
perfect condition). I had never used a plane and had always wanted to
try. Well the nice swishing sound and the excellent results threw me
into the world of planes, sharpening techniques, and scrapers. Now
here I am thirty seven old planes and woodworking tools later and
still counting. I am not a dust collector. I use these planes in my
shop. Lately I have been spending most of my time trying different
methods of sharpening plane blades. I have definitely proven to
myself that stropping makes all the difference. I am currently on a
disparate search for cutters for my Stanley 143.

     Its Great to be here!
