52261 John Wallace <jwx@m...> Oct-27-1998 bio
John Wallace, presently and temporarily in Birmingham AL. Atlanta
permanent resident.
I'm in the software business, econometric models for banks, etc.
Telecommute to company HQ in Virginia. Wife and I bought a fixer-upper
house some years ago, and I needed to learn how to fix it up. Started
learning with a rough carpenter who became a friend, gradually came to
appreciate his skill and persistence. So that was carpentry.
I've an academic background, so started reading about building, thence
to woodworking, studied the catalogs and finally bought some power ww
tools. Unfulfilling, but enjoyed the tactile experience. Yada yada.
Have grown to appreciate more the tradition and development aspects of
hand powered tools for woodworking. Now learning everyday as SWMBO has
decided she likes fixer uppers and we're six months into this one. I'm
providing (I hope) the custom touches.
Sense of humor follows.
John
